Break the mold, keep it rare, and make the poor dead tree proud to be hung around someone's neck!

I vote for some of both! Push the boundaries on innovation and encourage new artists to rise into a new form of artistry. But also make some guitars to push the boundaries of filling the existing mold with the best instruments that are available in order to give other artists the joy of innovating with the best.

The bottom line: You've raised an important and interesting question, but I don't think you should have to choose. You just have to be willing to make more than one guitar.

Jol,

So glad to read a new post!

I'm sure that whatever you do, it will be worthy of our admiration. There has been almost zero interest in modernizing the guitar, synth-guitars are a joke and weirdo body shapes are a cliche for the drop tuned angry haters. Keep it classic but with your flair for the details we love. Just don't make another copy Les Paul guitar, the world doesn't need another one of those unimaginative clones!
